The new KMC website has launched!
And not only that, the winter trip schedule and courses have been posted!
This new site is a big change for us, and we’re excited about the update! Below are details about how the transition works and what you can find on the new site.
Membership
What’s new? KMC members will be able to set up an account on the new site with your very own username and password. You can login to change your personal information, view restricted documents, and add trips to the schedule.
Great, how do I make an account or login? Unfortunately, we found a registration issue on the new site and we’re in the process of fixing it. We’ve temporarily disabled registrations and logins. We’ll be in touch in a few days with details on how you can get your account set up on the new site. Stay tuned…
- In the meantime, you can still access member-only content on the old website under Documents > Member Only Documents.
- We’ve linked a version of the Winter Trip Schedule on the old site so you can view trip leader information.
Trip Schedule
What’s new? The trip schedule has been turned into a calendar on the new website. All winter trips have been added to the new site. Check it out here: Trip Schedule
How do I add trips to the schedule? Once you create your account, members can login to add a trip to the schedule. Your trip will be in ‘Pending’ status and not visible on the schedule until is it approved by one of our fabulous Winter or Summer Trip Directors. You can also still email the Directors to get your trips added.
Mountain School
What’s new? All winter courses have been added to the new site and registrations are open. Get at ’em here: Winter Mountain School
- AST1 on Snowshoes – December 14th & 15th
- Companion Rescue & Refresher – January 12th
Bonnington Huts
What’s new? Commercial users now have a unique approval process and rate for booking the huts. The new hut booking form displays a nice interactive calendar which shows the number of bunks remaining for each night. Check out the huts here: About the HutsWhat happened to hut bookings on the old site? We transferred all the old hut bookings over to the new site. Everyone who had a hut booking received a separate email notification when their reservation was transferred.
Archive
Need to find something on the old site? Don’t fear! You can access the old site at archive.kootenaymountaineeringclub.ca
There are still a few documents and bits of info that we’ve moving from the old site to the new over the next few months.
Need more info?
We’ll be publishing a Member Guide with some ‘how to’ topics, from renewing your membership to posting a trip! This guide will also link to handy documents like the carpool guidelines or trip grading scale. This will be shared once we’re ready for you to set up your account.
